Experienced Attorney Defending Juvenile Crimes in the Florida Panhandle
I am lawyer Tim Flaherty, and I'm not only an accomplished criminal defense attorney — I'm a parent as well. I can imagine how you feel when you receive a phone call to let you know your child has been arrested and charged with a crime.
Your emotions may range from devastated to deeply saddened. But one emotion you don't have to feel is helpless. You can protect your child's rights and try to ensure the most positive outcome in the case by contacting an experienced defense attorney as soon as you can.
I defend every type of juvenile violation.
If your child is facing criminal charges, call my Fort Walton Beach office immediately to schedule a free consultation on your child's juvenile case. I am available to represent youth for every type of charge, including the following:
I realize as much as any parent that young people make mistakes in judgment, and I believe they deserve another chance and an opportunity to get their life going in the right direction. That is why I work to get charges leveled against children reduced, or dismissed before trial if at all possible. I will work to achieve the best possible result for your child’s case.
I defend children who are charged as adults.
In Florida, it is increasingly common for minors under the age of 18 to be charged as adults for certain serious crimes. The state has the option to prosecute minors older than 16 as an adult, even for misdemeanors, if they have a prior felony charge. There are options available to reduce these charges. One such option is known as Youthful Offender sentencing, which will allow for probation as part of the sentence.
Expungements and record seals
Starting out an adult life with an indelible black mark on your record — to be seen by college admissions departments, potential employers and others — doesn't have to happen. In many cases, I can work to have the charges removed from the record completely, or to have the records sealed and shielded from the public eye. Just because a child made an error does not mean they should spend the rest of their lives paying for it.
Call my office for legal defense of juvenile crimes.
Being a parent strengthens my commitment and dedication to protecting other young people — and if they've made an error in judgment and have been accused of a crime, I'm in an ideal position to do so. Please contact my office for a free initial consultation and assessment of your case.
